The team at The Breastfeeding Whisperer is extremely passionate about what we do. There’s no better feeling than knowing that our clients are happy with the lactation assistance we’ve given them. We take pride that the lactation advice we’ve provided to pregnant women and new mothers has made a real difference in their breastfeeding success. Below you’ll find a sample of our clients’ testimonials. If you’d like more information, please contact us by phone or email. Client references are available upon request.
We struggled getting our baby to latch to the point I started exclusively pumping and bottle feeding. Tara was able to get her to latch within 2 minutes of being here and next feeding we got her to latch by ourselves. She’s gave us way more information than we got from the hospital and worked with us one on one in our home. She also was able to get us in for a very last minute appointment so we could start asap.
I’m a first time mom with a newborn just days old. The hospital staff gave a lot of conflicting messaging about how to nurse. I thought I was fine because the baby latched easily. What I didn’t realize was that the baby was latching improperly, both causing me SIGNIFICANT pain and hindering baby’s ability to eat.
She helped show me a better technique and emphasized that it should NOT be painful to breastfeed. There can/may be some discomfort, but not pain. My baby was at risk of jaundice from being under nourished, but is now getting more milk and my nipple cracking and pain has eased.
Because of the nature of the work, you will almost guaranteed need more than one appt. For my 1st appt, we focused on the football hold, and confirming baby is actually eating and not just sucking. Future appointments will cover other types of holds, and you will likely have questions and need follow up for the numerous types of issues that you may encounter breast feeding.
Lastly, reach out for help sooner rather than later. As time passes and problems worsen, you are putting unneeded stress on yourself and on baby during what should be a beautiful time in your lives. The benefits will be worth the investment.
BEST DECISION I Have ever made. I was desperate and ready to give up on breastfeeding until I found The Breastfeeding Whisper. Tara was very professional and caring. She instructed me and made me feel like I can do this. I would highly recommend if you are in need of a lactation consultant.
Tara is amazing!!! I felt like giving up & I am so glad I reached out to her before I did! She has made me feel like it’s possible to feed my baby! Do not hesitate booking her for help!
I CANNOT express enough how THANKFUL I am for Tara! She truly is a baby whisperer. She was able to identify our baby's egg issue (caused her to be SUPER fussy) as well as our bad latch. She gave so many tips and tricks that we have a totally different baby!
I am a FIRM believer in addressing the root cause of the issue and working together I find that she is too! I've learned so many things from how to swaddle properly, nurse from different positions, pump, introduce the bottle (the next stage!), and more.
For moms due with a baby, please don't do what I did and assume everything is going to be fine. Even if this is not your first baby! If I had Tara from literally day 1, we would not be dealing with improving a latch, fussiness, a baby in pain, etc.
Health is an investment and I mean that for you and your whole family!!
Tara really is great at what she does. Her upbeat and positive personality along with all of her knowledge really did put me at ease and make me feel confident in my ability to continue breastfeeding. I am struggling with low supply due to insufficient latching and positioning. She helped me fine tune both and gave me the confidence I needed to be able to do it on my own. I highly recommend her services. I just wish I had reached out to her sooner!
Best experience!! I was having a great deal of trouble with getting a good latch. Tara was able to adjust it immediately! Such a huge difference. She is a true professional. She taught me all the positions to feed in and the correct way, placement etc. We did two weighted feeds to see how much baby is intaking. This gives so much peace of mind when breastfeeding that your baby is getting enough. This my second baby using Tara's help and it is still invaluable to even a second or third time mommy. Its easy to forget things over time so the guidance was super helpful. She can help for anything from swaddling properly, storing milk, pumping properly, timing, latch, tongue ties, helping to distinguish thrush, proper weight gain, overall baby and mama health, etc. If you are struggling in the slightest, please reach out for help from her. Her website has costs broken down easily and packages that make everything simple. I did a package with two in home visits which was super helpful to get all the positions down readily with a good latch. The second follow up is nice also to ask any questions that you may have thought of inbetween and also to talk about adding a pacifier and bottle in when the time is right. My package included a virtual meeting as well. I will be using that when I ready to go back to work and discuss how that will look....when to pump, schedule, etc Overall, highly recommend her and please seek her help if needed!!! She is awesome!
My breastfeeding experience changed for the best when I met Tara, before that I was miserable, frustrated and about to quit. She got to my house and in less than five minutes showed me what I couldn’t do in a week. Every mom should have a lactating professional and Tara and her team are the best by far!
My baby was born with a tongue tie which made breastfeeding difficult for both me and the baby. Her pediatrician educated me on lactation consultation and I immediately began searching. I’m so glad I found Tara, her visits are so convenient and I don’t even have to leave home. Tara is absolutely amazing! Very knowledgeable, professional, and makes breastfeeding fun and easy to learn! My newborn is latching so much better now and it’s pain free!!
Tara is the best! Tara helped me tremendously back in 2017 when I had my daughter and had many breastfeeding issues. I knew I couldn’t be without her when Breastfeeding my son. She came to my home when he was four days old to help me perfect my latch and make sure everything was going well! After short, frequent, and painful sessions on my own she was able to help me have a long painless session where baby was content and full for long period after. She really is the best!
The Breastfeeding Whisperer SAVED my breastfeeding journey. After four months of receiving conflicting advice and no one getting down to the root problem which was at the end of the day…the LATCH . I was getting to the point of tapping out and if I wouldn’t have called her in to help us when I did, I probably would have lost this beautiful once in a life time experience with my last baby. I will never have another baby and this breastfeeding journey is so deeply important to me. The work Tara does is so important. After months of dealing with a poor latch, slow weight gain for my baby, supplementing and just getting no where on top talking to SEVERAL lactation specialists before her… she swooped in and saved the day. Within seconds of observing me feed my baby she noticed the issue right away after several people didn’t. Her magic latching skills and techniques are unsurpassed. I still don’t fully understand how she can get a baby to latch so well, and even though I’m getting better at it with practice, I probably will never be able to get my baby to latch as perfect as she does! Oh and if you think you can’t get your milk supply up, with her recommendations and plan- YOU CAN!!!
Her bedside manner is so genuine, with the perfect amount of humor, kindness and professionalism all in one. Her daughter is excellent at observing the appointment and taking precise notes to refer to when you get your personalized care plan at the end of the appointment. The website is super user friendly and easy to navigate. The package is so easy to utilize and overall the experience from a logistic stand point is like a well-oiled machine. I’m SOOOO IMPRESSED!!
Also- let me just say- when it comes to breastfeeding best practices, latching and positioning, milk supply, most up to date research, supplement recommendations and all aspects of lactation- TARA IS HIGHLY EXPERIENCED AND KNOWS HER STUFF. You can feel at ease, a sense of calm and confidence when bringing her on board for your breastfeeding journey, just like I have!!
Take it from a mama who researches, is super picky, tries to be frugal, and has breastfed four babies now, when I say GET A PACKAGE. With breastfeeding, one appointment is almost never enough and latch techniques and milk supply can be a fine art that needs tuning up and practiced with a professional.
After seeing almost everyone under the sun, Tara was the first one who actually made me feel like we are going to get through this and helping me stay calm and giving me that hope and inspiration that I’m going to be nursing for months and years to come like I did with my other three babies.
Thank you Tara for saving my breastfeeding journey. I’ll never be able to thank you enough for helping me preserve this special once in a lifetime bond with my last baby.
Tara (and her daughter) are absolutely incredible! My son was born 10 days ago and our breastfeeding experience has been far from enjoyable thus far. I felt so defeated and honestly dreaded every feed due to his shallow latch.Tara was able to adjust my positioning and get him to latch properly within seconds. She is so knowledgeable and genuinely loves what she does, my only regret is not reaching out sooner! Looking forward to learning more from her in our upcoming sessions 😊
I was at the point that I wanted to give up breastfeeding. I was in so much pain from my son’s improper latch, I had to use a nipple shield just to make it through a feeding, and I had a plugged duct. Tara helped me to latch him correctly with zero pain, helped me work out my plugged duct, get him in the proper position so it no longer hurt my back to nurse, and all without the nipple shield that the hospital told me to use. Best of all, I have more confidence that we CAN continue to breastfeed and my baby was alert and satisfied after the feed for the first time ever instead of falling asleep. I highly recommended her for all your breastfeeding needs!
Amazing woman! She was my biggest resource and support to successfully breastfeed my daughter amongst a multitude of issues. Extremely knowledgeable and truly cares for every mommy she helps. Tara is a godsend and I am so thankful for her!
Tara is the best of the best! She answered any questions I had and made sure that I felt confident in my breastfeeding journey! I was able to video call when having difficulties and she was able to diagnose and give me the needed suggestions. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for my breastfeeding needs! True breastfeeding whisperer.
Tara is amazing. I struggled with breastfeeding and she saved the day. I would highly recommend her if you are a new mom!
Tara was amazing! My daughter was lazy and didn't want to work for her food. I spent 2 days crying (along with my daughter) before I found Tara and she got my daughter to latch and eat and it was amazing to see her milk drunk. She helped my daughter feed and helped me get my milk production up as well! Love her!
Tara is an amazing person. She’s wonderful to talk to about your issues with nursing and she knows how to spot the problem before you can even mention it. She helped me nurse my daughter 3 years ago for 18 months. And now that we’re expecting our 2nd child I will be following up with her again for guidance and reassurance. Questions or hesitation about breastfeeding she’s the woman to talk to.
Tara is amazing at getting babies to breastfeed! She has worked with some of the most difficult babies and turned them around! She will go above and beyond to get your baby breastfeeding like a pro!
I would not have a breastfeeding story without Tara. She made the journey possible through her expertise and commitment to care. My daughter was deemed failure to thrive, and I wasn't making nearly enough milk. After multiple sessions with Tara, I was able to correct my latch and work on increasing my supply. I went on to nurse my daughter for 28 months. When my son was born, Tara patiently worked with me to perfect multiple nursing holds. With her help from the earliest hours of his life, we did not experience the same struggles we did with my daughter. It was such a relief to know my milk was enough to sustain his life. The photo is my milk stash I was able to build up for my son. I'm so grateful for Tara's help. Sessions with her are invaluable.
When I had my first child we were really struggling to breastfeed, Tara helped us so much and went above and beyond to get us going!! I can't express how much I appreciate everything she did for us, her dedication is unlike anything I've ever heard of in a lactation consultant. Can't wait for her to help us with our baby girl this October!!
Just had my virtual consultation, I feel so confident and I am excited for the next feeding! I am a new mom and I have seen two consultants in person and none of them made me feel as comfortable as Tara did or answer my questions. They just did it for me. She made sure that all my questions were answered, latch was perfect and most of all that I was comfortable before we ended the consultation to do everything on my own. If you are struggling pay the 75$ for a virtual consultation, so she can really see what you are doing and not doing, to make sure you and your baby have the best experience. I promise you it will be the best money you have spent!!
Tara goes above and beyond as a lactation consultant for her clients! She took a personal interest in my needs as a mom, walking me through the entire lactation process (latching, nursing, pumping, etc.) Her experience truly shines as she is able to offer insight into many of the challenges nursing moms face. Even as a second time mom, I am still learning so much from Tara about nursing. Look at what she helped me accomplish in just 6 weeks!!!
If you thought a lactation consultation was only helpful for newborns, I’m here to change your mind. My 7 month old recently went on a nursing strike after banging her gum on the tile floor. I was trying everything but nothing was working. She went 48 hours without nursing and I was so discouraged. I almost didn’t have a consultation because I wasn’t sure Tara could help how adamantly Lani was refusing to nurse. But Tara came to the rescue again. She helped me create a brand new nursing routine and hit the reset button on my breastfeeding experience. If it wasn’t for her, I’m positive that I would have already come to the end of my nursing journey. Tara had her back on the breast in 24 hours! This is why we call her the Breastfeeding Whisperer! She has a God-given gift to help women and babies succeed at breastfeeding. 🤩🙌🏼🎀
Hey everybody! I have known Tara for quite a few years. She helped me breastfeed my first baby 6 years ago, and she just helped me with my second during a home visit! I can honestly say that she is absolutely amazing and I promise you, I could not have done this without her! She put me anxiety and stress to ease and I could not be happier!!! She is so passionate about breastfeeding and it means a lot to mommy’s like me! She truly has a gift. Thank you so much Tara!! ❤️❤️
Tara is amazing and I would encourage anyone who wants to breastfeed to reach out to her! As a pediatrician, I worked with Tara for over 5 years and I know she is so experienced and passionate about breastfeeding. When my daughter was born prematurely @ 29 weeks, she helped me to start pumping right away. I was at a children’s hospital and saw several lactation consultants who weren’t able to help me pump and Tara helped me via FaceTime to get the right pump and walked me through the whole process. I ended up pumping so much that I had to buy a deep freezer! When my daughter came home, we worked closely with Tara and she was phenomenal in helping me nurse my daughter who is healthy and doing great. Tara is definitely the breastfeeding whisperer!
Definitely lives up to her name, my 6 month old has not latched since 1 month old so I’ve been exclusively pumping and supplementing with donor milk. She was recently diagnosed with a dairy allergy and refuses all formula, so I thought I needed a miracle. With Tara here she got her to latch immediately! I was so comfortable and confident. I’m so grateful for my journey to begin because of Tara, I look forward to more sessions to get my baby 100% breastfed. Tara is magic. Thank you for everything that you do. My baby was super comfortable as well!! I highly recommend her, she’s the best.
I struggled with breastfeeding for the first 2 months after having my son. I finally listened to my friend to joint the breastfeeding forum. I’m hesitant to joining anything new and a more reserved person. So to my surprise in joining I realized that the moment everyone was talking and sharing their stories and experiences that I in fact was not alone in my struggle. Tara instantly made me feel comfortable. So I scheduled my first appointment with her. Immediately she still made me feel comfortable and had talked me through what I was doing. During this visit, my son latched successfully and feed for triple time he was normally doing. She is amazing and knows her stuff. I seen immediate response to implementing her suggestions. In waiting so long to take action my breast milk had dwindled. She immediately gave me a list of things to do, to get on it to get my milk back. Once applying everything she suggested, my milk supply began building back up. I was able to successfully gain it back and not rely solely on formula. I love that Tara was able to help me and will definitely be using her again in the future. The group meeting are super helpful to ask questions and to be apart of something that can encourage me throughout this process.
When I came home from the hospital I was already in so much pain and in tears from attempted breastfeeding. We tried help from multiple nurses but each time with little success at avoiding pain. We decided to hire Tara for an in home visit as soon as we got home to try and resolve things. Thankfully, right away she was able to point out our mistakes and teach us the way to correct them all! I am so thankful we decided to have Tara come, she has been helpful and following up even after our session to make sure all is well. I’ve decided to have her return to follow up to learn a bit more and continue succeeding. We cannot recommend this team enough - if you need a lactation consultant look no further!
