Tara has been dubbed by her vast network of mothers as "The Breastfeeding Whisperer". She’s a loving mother of three children, who were all breastfed. Tara has over 27 years of experience providing evidence-based breastfeeding support to mothers and infants, including 10 years of private practice and 15 years in a hospital setting doing in-patient and out-patient care.
Tara Judkins has a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, and in 2004, she became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). She is a proud member of several professional lactation organizations, including the International Lactation Consultant Association (ILCA) and the United States Lactation Consultant Association (USLCA).
Dr. Jamelah Tucker is a board-certified pediatrician since 2008, specializing in caring for hospitalized children, delivery room care for newborns, and well-newborn care. She completed her MD, MPH in a dual-degree program at Emory University in 2004, continuing her education at the University of Maryland Hospital for Children where she completed her Pediatrics residency in 2007. She was honored to serve as Chief Resident 2007-2008. Dr. Tucker has worked clinically as a pediatric hospitalist since completion of her training and enjoys helping kids get better, reassuring parents along the way. She loves working with and learning from lactation specialists like Tara, as Tara and Jamelah both realize how important it is to support moms, newborns, and breastfeeding in that critical window between going home from the hospital and the first pediatric visit. In her spare time, Dr. Tucker enjoys spending time with family and friends, yoga, and working with her sister on “veggie-sneaking” recipes and smart strategies for veggie flavor-learning.
